The Yellow Ribbon
All our yellow ribbons are around the trees,
for all of you fighting for us overseas.
Your all walking in a forign land,
of no lights and a sad beggars hand.
A foxhole and tent in a darkened night,
a dirty uniform and distand moonlight.
Soldiers can hear the choppers overhead,
as they sleep in what they call their bed.
The food is dry and sometimes unbearable,
us back home know what you go through is terrible.
With government issued guns you put up your fight,
I pray thanks to God I'm not there for that sight.
Do you Americans remember World War one,
women worked so hard to make bullets by the ton.
hoping to see their fathers, brothers, sons and husbands,
not wanting a knock on the door with a letter the gov't sends.
And what about the horror of World War two,
Hitler struck Europe and the Holocaust grew.
Blond hair and blue eyes was Hitler's perfect race,
In 1945 it was us he would face.
My grandfathers fought in the Korean war,
It was something we all can be proud of them for.
Communism was wrong in our peoples eyes,
A civil war at hand with the enemies ties.
Reminant thoughts of vietnam clearly,
torn and lost we loved so dearly,
Forsaken by all to intaginize the fight,
for the American dream to make the world right.
Most of us remember Desert Storm, Desert Shield,
we prayed for our soldiers marching the field.
We hped the war would not go on for long,
little did we know we were wrong.
We remember the day the Twin Towers fell,
as we watched in horror and wished the doers to hell.
Who "now" protects this great nation?
The U.S. military who raced for their station.
Could be your father, brother sister or friend,
the people we love is who we send.
So pay attention all who are reading,
America's heart is still bleeding.
America! Do you know how to fight in a war?
Strained nerves tiered feet and the enemies roar.
Do you know how much our soldiers go through in one day?
All orders and working, no time for play.
We know you all get up with the sun,
and work and work till the day is done.
So remember all you young and old,
America's wars are forever told.
We need your support and mostly a prayer,
because you never know it could be you over there.
Remember our heros, everyone!
Who have put their lives on hold to be part of the "fun."
It's a great feeling of pride and knowing too,
that were living in the land of the red, white, and blue.
Remember this all you soldiers overseas,
Your fighting for your family in the land of the free.
